In the early 1980s, ASSOS was the first company to introduce both sublimation printing technology, and technically advanced, microfiber polyester fabric blends, to the world of cycle clothing. Sublimation printing allowed ASSOS to make jerseys multicolored, and enabling them to perfectly reproduce a team’s colours and sponsor logos.
Microfiber polyester fabrics made cycling jerseys much lighter, while the technical performance, including moisture management, was so good that this new generation of fabrics and techniques quickly became the industry standard. Traditional, heavy wool & acrylic cycling jerseys quickly became obsolete. Pro Team riders who had the privilege of riding in ASSOS were very happy, and the sport of cycling became even better as a sponsoring tool.
Often imitated, never equaled. Some companies choose a “vintage” look & materials to be fashionable, to make you believe they were there. They weren’t.
