Strype Street Store
Our recently refurbished Strype Street store is now bigger, brighter and better than ever! As well as stocking a wide range of cycling products, we have devoted a large part of the store to mountain bikes and MTB specific accessories. With its MTB focus, and experienced MTB staff, our Strype Street store is fast becoming London’s premier MTB store.
Our fully equipped workshop and Cytech Qualified mechanics have been helping city cyclists get where they're going for more than ten years. The experienced team - headed by Workshop Manager Matt - offers same day service on scheduled repairs and will always try to fit in on-the-spot jobs where possible.
Strype Street is serious about servicing. Is there a shiny upgrade you just have to get? Perhaps your commute bike's summer tune-up is due? Or maybe you ate dirt at the weekend and the wheels are looking a little wobbly? Call the store, or just drop in and you'll get the advice and the service you need - 7 days a week.
The specialist running company, Runners Need, comes to Strype Street, offering a large selection of running shoes and apparel - everything that runners need!

- What bike do you ride?
- My main bike is a Trek Remedy 9 (160mm travel on the front), Trek Session 88 (my downhill bike), Kona Cowan (Jump Bike)
- How did you get into mountain biking?
- I started dirt jumping then went into mtb street riding. This gave me core skills which really helped when about 7 years ago I got heavily into natural trail adventure riding, which has lead me to compete in the Mega Avalanche for the last 3 years.
- How often do you go out riding?
- I commute daily, and ride my mountain bike as regularly as possible, getting up north at least once a month.
- Where's your favourite place to ride?
- Glentress, Innerleithen in Scotland and Chatel bike park in the French alps.
- What advice would you give to someone starting out mountain biking?
- Stay loose and relaxed on the bike, let it dance around under you, and looking ahead is essential.
- What do you most like about mountain biking?
- For me it is my transport to seeing hidden places. I have been on many adventure holidays, Morocco, traveling the High Atlas Mountains for 6 days, and most recently completing the Tour of Mont Blanc, three countries, 6 days, 10,000m of climbing!
- What's your all time favourite piece of kit?
- Rockshox Reverb, most important part of mountain biking!!!
- Where do you see the sport of mountain biking going?
- This year has brought Enduro racing to the forefront of mountain biking. It’s an event where you ride trails all day, have a time period to complete the climbs, but all of your downhill times are added together to produce who is the fastest throughout the day. The exciting thing about this sport is its generating bikes that are capable of climbing for hours, usually with 160mm travel with the right geometry to nail it downhill!
- What excites you about your store?
- Highly passionate and knowledgeable staff, which are living this sport everyday.
- Who or what has inspired you over the years, and why?
- My biggest inspiration is from mountain bike films that show you the boundaries of the sport being pushed to new limits every year. Life Cycles and Where the Trail Ends are essential viewing for pure inspiration, and you have to go and ride your bike after watching these, even if it is the middle of the night!

Your employee, Kimberleigh, was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. Within the space of 30 mins I had gone from not knowing what I wanted, to putting down a deposit on a bike that I am very pleased with. "My wife & I recently purchased a hybrid bike each with lots of accessories from your Spitalfields store in London. We really enjoyed our whole shopping experience, after becoming really disillusioned with many other bike shops in the capital.

"I wished to write regarding my recent experiences at your Spitalfields store, where my wife and I purchased a pair of Specialized hybrids some months back.
The manager and his team are in every way an outstanding credit to your firm. They have been courteous, friendly and extremely helpful, going out of their way to help us resolve any issues with the bicycles, and to answer any questions.
As examples, when my wife was finding that riding was causing her back pain, the store manager took the time to correct her posture, adjust the bike & modify the handlebars to resolve this, and when my chain snapped, one of the staff swapped it during his lunch break. There have been numerous other occasions with similar examples.
I would appreciate it if you can pass on our deepest thanks to the Spitalfields team - on the strength of my experiences with them, I now recommend your store, and that branch specifically, to any of my friends or colleagues who is in search of anything bicycle related."

Our Workshop mechanics are Cytec qualified which is the benchmark for quality service in our industry. Our workshop has all the necessary tools and parts to get your bike fixed up and back on the road, usually with same day service. If the repair requires a specialist part then we can special order it in for you and book your repair as soon as it arrives. Our workshop team are happy to answer customer enquiries and give good honest advice to help you decide what level of service your bike needs.
In order to give you a transparent overview of pricing for all activities carried out in our workshops, we have listed approximate costs below. All prices serve only as a guideline and can vary depending on the age, condition and type of bike. There is a minimum labour charge of £10. We will always happily give you an approximate quote for any jobs not listed below. All parts are charged separately.

Bike Storage Costs
We have very limited space for bike storage and would therefore ask that customers collect their bike on the day of repair. We are forced to charge a bike storage supplement of £10 per day, calculated from the day of repair to the day of collection.
Why not take the hassle and some of the cost out of maintaining your new cycle by choosing one of the new service plans that we have on offer? All our stores have fully functioning workshops with experienced mechanics who will keep your bike riding at its most efficient.
