Customer Testimonials

"I recently bought a Brompton through the Cycle to Work scheme. I was really eager to buy the bike from an independent bike store however was sadly disappointed by the level of stock that these seemed to offer. Reluctantly I walked into the CycleSurgery store in Victoria, London and was met with some of the best customer service I have ever received. Almost without exception I was approached by the friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff members who all made the experience of choosing a bike and learning about the different credentials utterly enjoyable.

In particular, (and forgive me if I have their names down wrongly) but Ifraca was a particularly forthcoming salesgirl who helped me process my order and Mark (who I believe was an assistant manager) was unbelievably patient and professional when I came in to collect my Brompton. Mark knew who I was before I even told why I had come and then he seemed in no hurry at all to explain how to care for and construct my bike.

All in all a brilliant display of service and I hope that this can be fed back to the staff.

Ps my Brompton is the best,"

Elspeeth C, 29th April 2013

"A quick note to say thanks for fixing my Brompton rear light today, especially for hurrying to get it ready in time. I had to pedal a bit harder than usual, but caught my train in the end!"

Jeremy P, 22nd January 2013

"I have been repeatedly impressed by your excellent customer service, most recently twice at the Victoria store.

I have been in with faults with my new bike and, both times, the staff have been helpful, prompt and informative dealing with my issue in a courteous and efficient way. This is despite my bike being relatively cheap and myself not necessarily being a 'high value customer'.

As I said, despite hearing great things about the customer service at Cycle Surgery generally, I have been impressed by the way I have been treated at the Victoria store; they are a credit to your chain."

Paul G, 21st November 2012

"I just wanted to bring to your attention the truly excellent service that I've received in the store over the last couple of days.

Last week I noticed a noise from the rear of my Cube road bike, purchased from Cycle Surgery 2 months ago. I brought it to the store and I have to say the service couldn't have been better and especially that of your mechanic Darek. Over 2 days he worked to track down the fault (it seems the spokes needed re tensioning) and took the time to keep me updated throughout, superb customer service from someone who clearly knows his stuff and has a passion for bikes.

Please pass on my thanks to Darek and the team at Victoria; I have now found a bike shop that I can rely on and you can be certain of my ongoing custom."

Richard G, 20th September 2012

"Thank you again today for your helpful advice. I have tried alternative bike shops for repairs on my Brompton from time to time, but always regret it and come back to Cycle Surgery for your excellent products and friendly, high quality service. You and your colleagues always know what you're talking about bike-wise and go the extra mile."

Andrew L, 13th September 2012

"Had some problems with my bike yesterday after riding up to watch the road race and just wanted to say thanks to James W who was really helpful in your store. Many Thanks."

Spencer D, 29th July 2012

"You certainly lived up to your name today! I live in SE London and had cycled to Richmond to watch the Mens Olympic road race; and was planning to watch the end of the race with friends in East London. Somewhere around Battersea, a spoke popped on my rear wheel and I limped into town desperately searching for a cycle shop. I could see a humiliating train journey home looming! Two of your competitors said they couldn't help, they were too busy. I remembered your shop in Victoria and got there feeling the wheel get more and more buckled. Thankfully, Jimmy, Andy and Danny sorted the whole thing replacing my wheel adjusting everything and allowing me to carry on and have a great day. Big shout to those guys, they really did the trick!"

Iain M, 28th July 2012

"Thank you very much for good service yesterday. Jimmy was wonderful and fixed my brake on the spot and enabled me to get to my meeting on time. Then later, when I had to come back with a puncture, and the repair was late, Mike was very calming! Many thanks."

Lucy C, 18th July 2012

"Just to say thank you to Jimmy and the American/Canadian Assistant for their help in finding me a reflector and advice on what bike and bike events to aim for.

Really appreciated the gracious time and attention you provided, and will certainly be using Cycle Surgery in the future thanks to my experience last night."

Sophie C, 6th July 2012

"I'd just like to let you know that I've visited your store in Victoria and received exceptional service. I explained my situation and the gentleman who served me was very kind and explained all the options. I often find it daunting entering specialist shops that I don't know too much about, but the friendly attitude that your staff have put me at ease right away.

Craig C, 3rd July 2012

"I just wanted to write to say many thanks for all your help and support recently.

As you know, I recently signed up to take part in a Land's End to John O'Groats charity cycle ride and needed to upgrade to a road bike. I spent several days visiting various bike shops in and around London but found that once I arrived at Cycle Surgery Victoria, the team were able to provide me with all the support and help I needed. I'm very happy with my new purchase (a Giant Defy 1) and can I also say thank you for all the other valuable information your team passed on to help me with my training in the months ahead.

Keep up all the good work!"

John E, 9th March 2012

"I visited your store near London Victoria today and was really impressed with the knowledge and helpful attitude of the staff. I didn't catch the name of the guy helping me, he was Australian and had fair hair, but the information he provided was exactly what I needed. So often bike shops are a hotbed of tech snobbery and one-upmanship, but in your store the staff are respectful when applying their ample knowledge to customers. I've been in a few times now and most times walk out having purchased something after receiving good product advice. I really appreciate having such a great store so close to my work, please pass my comments on to the team there."

Andy W, 2nd March 2012

"I'd just like to thank everyone who I dealt with at the Victoria store in purchasing my Specialized Sirrus Elite which I picked up Saturday. So far so good - very pleased with bike, thanks.

It's been a pleasure doing business with you - everyone I've dealt with has been extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

I'll happily recommend the shop and the staff to anyone."

Simon L, 21st February 2012

"I have been dealing with the team at Cycle Surgery Victoria for over a month now, as my last bike was stolen, and I have been so impressed with the customer service. Having initially dealt with [a different cycle retailer], I found their service appalling, with disinterested and unknowledgeable staff, and a lack of choice / stock. I visited [another cycle retailer] once but they were very overpriced. It has been really refreshing to deal with the nice guys at Cycle Surgery. Andy has been helping throughout the process of choosing a new bike and he has been faultless and caring, he was busy last night so Jimmy served me and was really helpful too."

Oliver D, 21st December 2011

"I'd like to give a big thanks to the store mechanic, Thomas Lukow, for the awesome job he performed today on my hydraulic brakes. Well done!"

Ludovic B, 24th October 2011

"I know people can moan about service in cycle shops but I really want to say that I am impressed with the service I receive at your store. Last week my rear mudguard was rattling on my Pashley Poppy pink bicycle. I brought it into your store and Jimmy, your staff member was really helpful. He arranged for the mechanic to see the bicycle. He kept me up to date with the progress of the repair, explained that it needed a part from Pashley. Today I receive a phone call from Jimmy to say that the part has arrived and that I could come in today for the bicycle to receive that repair.

When I first bought my Pashley (through the employer's Ride to Work) scheme, I had to buy the bicycle from another bike shop. It kept getting punctures and when I visited the bike shop they would only repair the inner tube. The amount I was meant to save on not using public transport was instead being used for a puncture repair fund. In January I visited your store and they replaced both tyres and I haven't had a puncture since.

Jimmy and the rest of your store staff are really helpful which makes a change in this world. Throughout the repair he has provided excellent customer service and treated me like a human rather than another number.

I always recommend your store to my colleagues and friends.

Best wishes,"

Loretta R, 24th October 2011

"I'd just like to say thanks for the excellent work you did on my bike. It is just over a year old and I didn't think a service was strictly necessary. However, your chaps have worked wonders and the bike is like new again. The service was very friendly and everyone was exceptionally helpful.

Thanks for all your help."

Trevor T, 30th September 2011

"Thanks once again for your great attention yesterday in kitting out my Pinarello with new pedals. They are great and your advice was really appreciated.

As always, I am really pleased with the level of service you guys at Cycle Surgery Victoria provide compared with the other shops in the area (I won't mention which one). It's a completely different experience. I remember even earlier in the summer I brought my bike in for service before a race and you promptly squeezed me in ample time.

You guys have a great knowledge of cycling and that's why I keep coming back. Keep it up."

Peter A, 7th September 2011

"Hi,

Quick note to thank Jimmy (James W 1507) for sourcing a Medium sized Specialized 2D lid, calling to let me know it was in store and then taking the time to fit it properly - top man.

Cheers"

Paul, 28th July 2011

"I just wanted to drop you a quick mail to express my gratitude for the service I have received from Cycle Surgery @ Victoria over the last couple of months.

In April I first came into the store to look for a bike to purchase on the Cycle to Work scheme and little did I know I would be so wonderfully looked after.

Jimmy was the first member of staff I worked with, and to be honest I know ask for him every time I come into the store, he has gone above and beyond in the advice and time he has given. I have no doubt that his service has what has continued to bring me back to the store, my bank balance is suffering but my bike is great!

In a climate where customer loyalty is hard to build, I can say that you all do a wonderful job at building it, I feel very loyal to your store and I look forward to buying another bike with you soon. Many thanks once again for such a pleasant shopping experience."

Amie, 21st June 2011

"Hi guys

Apologies as I wanted to send this a few weeks back. I wanted to say a massive thanks for all your help and extra efforts in what turned out to be a nightmare in getting my bike ready for the Nightrider 2011 charity event. With the parts not turning up from chain reaction I was left running around London on the day of the event picking up all the parts needed. Not getting them to you guys till 3:30pm on that Saturday due to all the obstacles that were being thrown in my way. Closed underground lines, trooping the colour and demonstrations. Bearing in mind the event kicked off at 12 midnight that same day you guys pulled out all the stops and as far as I'm concerned went beyond the call of duty to get the bike ready for me for 6pm. Great work and credit well deserved!

That day for me was definitely a big test of character and although I didn't get the rest I wanted during that day and was quite stressed by it all you guys certainly kept the stress to a manageable level for me and I went on to complete the 65.4 miles in 4 hrs 27 mins.

Again a massive thanks to you guys!! You have a very dedicated and knowledgeable team there at Victoria.

Take care, all the best and I will see you soon!"

Paul B, 23rd July 2011

"Hi guys,

Just a quick email to say thanks again for the fantastic service I've received at your store recently.

Bought a new Sirrus Elite at the end of May - completely new to spending serious money on a bike but I was given helpful and informative advice at every step. Since then (picking up the bike, returning for its initial service) the staff have been continuously brilliant - including the several occasions when I've rushed into the store with about 5 minutes until closing time.

People are quick enough to complain when things don't go right - I just thought the great service you all provide should be commented upon too. Will be recommending cycle surgery, and particularly your store, to all my friends/colleagues.

Have a great weekend"

Barry D, 23rd July 2011

"Just a quick note to say a huge 'thank you' for the excellent bike and even better service. I'm really grateful to you. The bike is an awesome ride – I'm juts getting used to it having never been on a mountain bike before. "

George S, 16th May 2011

"Dear Mark and Felix, just wanted to say a very big thank you for all the time you spent with me, on Wednesday afternoon, when I called in to see the Go-Cycle.

You guys were wonderfully patient, kind, helpful and knowledgeable and I enormously appreciated everything you did for me. With many thanks, Martin"

Martin S, 16th May 2011

"On both visits to your store recently, I have been hugely impressed by the service I received - and the huge improvement since I last visited about 6 months ago. The shop was well staffed. I was asked if I wanted help. Staff seemed like they actually wanted to help me, and keenly asked me questions in respectful, plain language to help me figure out what I needed. The tool wasn't in stock, but this didn't stop them from giving me really helpful and thorough advice. It was such a surprise - like I was kind of gobsmacked by how helpful your staff were.

I'll definitely start bringing my bike to you for servicing and I'll come to you first for parts, accessories and tools. And I'll tell my friends and colleagues because yours is the kind of business I'd like to support. Please pass on my thanks to the team. I look forward to returning soon."

Mr D Scott, 31st March 2011

"I just wanted to write and say thank you for the service I received today in your shop. I don't normally bother with this sort of thing but felt that the young bloke [James] that helped me today made a real effort in terms of attention and willingness to offer advice.

At the time I didn't buy anything as the stock was not to hand, however I have ended doing so via your website largely due to the service I received today."

Paul H, 2nd February 2011

"Having visited many cycle shops in London, I have tended to find they treat female customers rather dismissively. It was a pleasure to go into your store this afternoon, all the staff, especially Toby, were extremely pleasant and helpful."

Ms R Hembury, 7th November 2010

"I just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks to the mechanic who serviced my bike (a Trek 8500) yesterday. I am very impressed and it rides better now than it did when I got it!"

Mr M Ostberg, 10th August 2010
