This New York City Edition 2017 Brompton is designed with commuters and urban cyclists in mind, featuring reflective Brompton and NYC design decals, and complete with a special edition roll top Brompton bag.
Offering riders who are after more of a lower, sporty front end and a rigid, lightweight, positive feel, the NYC Edition Brompton features a front carrier for on-the-go city luggage. The 6-speed option has one gear for hills and starting off, and one for cruising. Based on the unique Brompton derailleur system, with near perfect chain-alignment, this is the best set-up for flexibility and portability.
Perfect for carrying onto trains and buses, the frame and handlebars fold down into a small package that's only a little larger than its wheels. Once folded, the bike has no protrusions or loose parts, and will carry like a small suitcase. Its chain and gears are kept away from clothing and luggage when folded and lights and cables are kept out of the way so there's no snagging on clothing if you take it on the train. With only 1500 units made, the NYC Brompton 2017 is a unique edition of this iconic bike.
Additional features include anodised lime green cranks and hubs, lime green Ergon grips, battery lighting and a USB saddle light. Excellent frame rigidity and an extended seatpost ensure that the energy you put in is efficiently converted into a responsive, quick ride.

The first Brompton bike was built in 1975 from the South Kensington bedroom of designer Andrew Ritchie.
His initial prototypes were crude, but through a relentless refining process Ritchie hit upon a cycle that would go on to become the gold standard of folding bikes.
In recent years, the company has seen rapid expansion worldwide, and now has stores in cities including London, Amsterdam, Beijing, Tokyo and Barcelona.
But not content to rest on their laurels, Brompton has a large team of in-house designers and engineers who are constantly developing new accessories and improving upon the design of the bike itself.
Every Brompton is handmade in their London factory by skilled craftsman who have undergone an intensive 18-month training program, and who each have a unique signature which they stamp on the parts of the bike they work on.
This culture of accountability is indicative of Brompton’s commitment to quality, and helps to ensure that every one of their bikes is built to the highest standard.
